This area of South Scottsdale from Indian School Road to the north, and Thomas Road to the south, 68th Street to the west and Pima Road to the east is home to a few different distinct neighborhoods. The largest subdivision in South Scottsdale is Scottsdale Estates, with approximately 2,450 homes. Consisting of Scottsdale Estates 2 through 16, these single-family homes were built with block construction and sit on larger lots (averaging 7,200 sqft). The sizes of these homes range from a low of 1,000 sqft to a high of 2,500, with the majority of homes in the 1,500 to 1,800 sqft range.
The Trails at Scottsdale features both patio homes and single family homes. The popular Scottsdale Summit neighborhood features single family homes built in the late 1990s by DR Horton. Golf courses are plentiful in Scottsdale, from the links at the Continental Golf Club, the Scottsdale-Silverado Golf Club, and the courses within McCormick Ranch and Gainey Ranch proper. Top Golf Scottsdale and Talking Stick Resort & Casino offer other entertainment options in this community. The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art is located in South Scottsdale. Nearby Scottsdale Stadium is the home to spring training for the San Francisco Giants. There are several shopping centers near this area of Scottsdale such as the Shops at Gainey Village and The Pavilions at Talking Stick.
